On Thursday, January 5, 2012 the members who attended our meeting voted unanimously to amend the By-Laws so that the membership year coincides with our Fiscal Year (currently July 1 through June 30).

Friends of the Topsham Public Library is a not-for-profit organization created in September 1998. Our purpose is to:

establish closer relations between the Topsham Public Library and the community;
promote informed interest in the library's functions, resources, services and needs;
promote additional cultural activities in the community via the Library; and
support both financially and by advocacy the extension and improvement of the Library's services and resources.

Virtually all library programs for children, from toddler to teenager, adults, and families, are supported by the Friends, as well as the purchase of passes to area museums that offer free or reduced admission for Topsham families.

The Friends welcome the public at their monthly meetings and as volunteers for the annual book sale and other Friends activities.

The Friends are funded by annual membership dues, charitable contributions, and the annual book sale.
